Annapurna Expedition

The trek into the beautiful trails of the mystical Annapurna Region has managed to become one of the most sought after destinations in Nepal. The 55 kilometer long mastiff in the pristine Himalayas of Nepal has managed to attract the attention of a huge number of fans from across the world. The name of this mastiff arises from the meaning “full of Food”. The expedition to the summit of this mastiff is an incredible experience in itself whose challenging routes make it one of the most sought after destinations in the world.

Annapurna 1 of the Annapurna Mastiff is considered to be one of the most challenging mountains to climb and is the tenth highest peak in the world with a height of 8091 m. the dangers of frostbite and gangrene are prevalent but this is why the expedition to summit the mountain is highly recommended to thrill seekers of all kinds from across the world. This adventurous adventure should surely be undertaken by those with an interest fo achieving more and the patience to do so.

Day 01:

Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)

We arrive to the capital of the beautiful country Kathmandu, looking forward to the incredible experiences to undertake in this pristine country. This day can be spent by looking around at the delights of this beautiful country and relishing the unique Nepali cuisine offered. 

Day 02:

Sightseeing Around Kathmandu

Kathmandu is proud to be the home of the unique and old Nepali heritage sites. It is home to the historic sites of the past and is the home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Some include the likes of the Bhaktapur, Kathmandu and the Patan Durbar Square which are worth visiting. Also included are the Boudhanah and the Syambunath Stupa which are other locations which can be visited on this day. This day ends with the chances to observe the exquisite traditions and the customs of the beautiful country Nepal.

Day 03:

Kathmandu- Besisahar (1300m- 760m)

We move into the starting point of all the Annapurna Region treks today. We take a drive through the Kathmandu- Pokhara highway into Dumre and then through the paved road beside the Marsynagdi river to reach Besisahar. This seven hour drive will take us to the area where we can observe extremely beautiful scenery of terraced field and mountain peaks as surrounding the beautiful valley.

Day 04:

Besisahar- Khudi

Today, we move into the beautiful village of Khudi through terraced paths and several villages along the way. Also present are some beautiful waterfalls which adorn the path and make it extremely beautiful.

Day 05:

Khudi- Syange

This day, we will pass along the up and down tracks to reach the village of Syange. The village is filled with teahouses and other facilities and is placed in an extremely picturesque location. 

Day 06:

Synage- Tal

We wake up early morning to embark on a trek to Tal. The trek amalgamates the passage through several villages with ethnic inhabitants whom we can mix up with along the way. Also present are the attributes like several waterfalls and green fields.

Day 07:

Tal – Bagarchhap

Today, we move along stony paths and trek along to reach the beautiful village of Bagarchhap where we call it a day.

Day 08:

Bagarchhap- Chame

Through extremely beautiful views of the pristine peaks of the Annapurna region, we move to Chame today, along the path, there are several waterfalls  as well as villages which adorn the region.

Day 09:

Chame- Pisang (3155m)

This day will start with the sparkling views of the Lamjung Himal. Through pine and fir forests, we set off to reach the beautiful village of Pisang. The path along the way is rocky and filled with cliffs. The valley from this point moves along through an extremely steep path as the trail extends to Bratang. From here, we embark on a short climb which brings us to a rock strewn area. From here, we cross bridges and the winding paths amalgamated with the views of the mind-boggling and glistening peaks to reach a Mani wall. Through this wall, we reach the beautiful village of Pisang.

Day 10:

Pisang- Hongde

Today, we move from the picturesque village of Pisang to another extremely beautiful village of Hongde which is home to the exceptional views of the snowcapped peaks.

Day 11:

Hongde- Yak Kharka

The trail today passes through several yak pastures and as the name suggests, to the location filled with Yaks, called the Yak Kharka, this beautiful location is famous for the incredible number of yaks and the yak cheese here is extremely famous too.

Day 12:

Yak Kharka- Annapurna Base Camp

The trek today will be an extremely beautiful one. With views of the pristine peaks all around us, we gain more elevation to be able to reach the beautiful base camp of the Annapurna Mastiff. It is situated at the height of 4130 m. The snowy location is where we will set camp and relax for some time. With the Annapurna towering high above us, the sanctuary boasts a dynamic 360 degree view of the beautiful mountain peaks all around.

Day 13:

- Day 33 Ascent and Descent of Annapurna

The south ridge of the Annapurna I will be the best location to climb up the incredibly large mastiff. Deemed one of the most dangerous mountain ascents, the Annapurna requires a patient attitude and the attention to detail to make the summit up to the Annapurna an incredible experience waiting to be undertaken. It was the first 8000 meter peak to be climbed and the fatality rate in this area is very high, making it a challenging summit. Avoiding AMS and acclimatizing properly with the altitude, the ascent up to and Annapunra and descend down to the base camp can be completed properly.

Day 34:

Clean Base Camp and Trek to Yak Kharka

Today we clean up the Annapurna Base Camp and trek and retrace our steps back to the beautiful village of Yak Kharka where we can relax and look back at the achievements done in the past few days.

Day 35:

Yak Kharka- Manang

Manang is a mystical village situated in the Manang district. With the appearance of the glistening peaks all around, the Manang Valley surely is a location worth exploring upon reaching. With relaxed minds, we spend the remaining time exploring the style of living of the inhabitants living in the region.

Day 36:

Manag- Churi Lattar

Today we move across dry arid land and terraced farms to reach Churi Lattar.

Day 37:

Churi Lattar- Thorong Phedi

Thorong Phedi is a beautiful location which showcases the views of the pristine mountain peaks that adorns the Annapurna region. We trek from Churi Lattar to Thorong Phedi today and look acorss the beautiful peaks like the Annapurna I, Gangapurna, and Dhaulagiri etc. all around the Annapurna region from the Thorong La Pass.

Day 38:

Thorong Phedi- Muktinath

Today, we embark on a trek to reach the pilgrimage site of Hindus, Muktinath. Muktinath can be reached through the path of several prayer flags and chortens. The dramatic views along the way will boggle our minds today. The towering mountain views with and purple hills of Mustang will adorn the path which will also showcase the glistening Dhaulagiri in front of us. The moraines give into the grassy slopes before we walk along a pleasant path into the Jhong Khola Valley. We eventually reach Muktinath where we can visit the Braga Monastery as well as the Muktinath Temple, the pilgrimage site of Hindus.

Day 39:

Muktinath- Jomsom (2710m)

Today, we begin the descent down to the dramatic Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest in the world. Through arid country we pass through the villages of Jharkot and Khingar which are adorned with typical Tibetan architecture. Jomsom is situated along the banks of the roaring Kali Gandaki River and the Nilgiri peaks stand towering above from this location. We continue from Khingar to Marpha which is famous for its apple wine and continue along narrow alleys and passageways to reach the beautiful location of Jomsom.

Day 40:

Jomsom- Pokhara

Today we fly to one of the most beautiful cities of Nepal, Pokhara. Pokhara, which is also known as the lake city, is adorned with lakes like the Phewa, Begnas and many more which are worth boating around. The beautiful flight can be followed by roaming around the beautiful locations of Pokhara including the Gupteshwore Cave, Mahendra Cave, Davis Falls, Phewa Lake and many more. 

Day 41:

Pokhara- Kathmandu

We drive back to the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu from Pokhara today. Through the roaring Trishuli and the passage through Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar, we reach Thankot and enter Kathmandu. Another option is to fly to Kathmandu and spend the rest of the day by looking around the markets and buying souvenirs for loved ones.

Day 42:

Departure

After a mind-boggling experience of having climbed one of the most dangerous mountain peaks in the world, our expedition to the top of Annapurna finally comes to an end. We depart from Nepal only with the promise to come back for more.
