Island Peak Climbing

Island Peak is better known as the Imja Tse and is one of the most popularized climbing peaks situated in the beautiful country of Nepal. At the altitude of 6189 m, the Island Peak has managed to become one of the first choices for mountain climbers all over Nepal. The peak offers the views of the pristine snowcapped peaks like the Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Makalu and many others. It is a part of the Everest range and lies in the Chukung Valley. The name of the peak arises from the fact that it appears as if it is surrounded by ice all around and appears as a island in middle of an ice.

The peak is considered to be a good acclimatization hike for climbers before climbing other major peaks it has an impressive and highly glaciated West Face that arises high up from the Lhotse Glacier and a steep route and narrow edge makes the route to the top an extremely adventurous one.
