Kanchenjunga is the third highest peak in the world at 8586m which is situated on the border between Nepal and India. Kanchenjunga means the five treasure of the great snow. This mountain is believed to be one of the most beautiful mountains massifs in the world. This mountain trekking route lies in the eastern part of Nepal. Trekking in this mountain is really breathtaking as we can view the spectacular snow capped mountains and magnetic views of the Himalayas. This is a special one because of the wonderful land topography present there. Wildlife like snow leopard and red panda are extinct animals which can be easily found in the Kanchenjunga Region. This trekking is less crowded. The path that allows to the Kanchenjunga is full of excitement and wow factors. This is the best trekking spot for long adventure and for enjoying on the lap of great Himalayas.

ARRIVAL IN KATHMANDU (1300m)
The first day of the journey begins by arriving in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. After checking in at the airport, we will be transferred to the hotel. We will be welcomed in our hotel with garland and drinks. We can spend the day by strolling around the streets of Kathmandu, enjoying the Nepali cuisine and dinner at traditional Nepali restaurant.
SIGHTSEEING AROUND THE KATHMANDU AND PREPARATION (1300m)
Kathmandu is known to be the city of the temple. After having the breakfast in the hotel, we start our journey by visiting the heritage site. The sacred temple for the Hindu Pashupatinath, famous stupa of Buddhist (Swayambhunath), historic Durbar Squares like Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Boudhanath can be visited. In the evening we will take peak climbing preparation class which will be beneficial for us during the peak climbing. After lunch, we will check all our equipment necessary for our trek. We will introduce the new fellows and make a group discuss our trip at the hotel. We will spend our night in Kathmandu.
KATHMANDU – BIRATNAGAR (1300m – 81m)
Enjoying a day in Kathmandu, we will go to domestic terminal of TIA and will fly to Biratnagar. We will reach Biratnagar after flying for about 45 minutes and explore near areas of Biratnagar. We will spend the night in Biratnagar.
BIRATNAGAR – SUKETAR (81m – 2420 m)
Early in the morning after having breakfast, we will be directly flying to Suketar. After reaching Suketar we will make a short trip around the Suketar areas and spend the night there.
SUKETAR – MITLUNG (2420 m – 921 m)
Today is the first official day to start our trip. We will start our journey walking the lower sections of Kanchenjunga region. Then we will cross Hangdewa River and walk along Tamor River. We will be heading towards the northern direction where the path may steepen. After few hours of trekking on a steeper and muddy path, we finally will reach to Mitlung.
MITLUNG – CHIRWA (921m – 1270m)
Early in the morning after having light breakfast, we will start our journey. After trekking through lower and upper hill the path will take us to the village of Sinwa. We will continuously trek downhill until we reach Tawa. From Tawa, we will be the trek to some height where we will cross the suspension bridge at Thiwa and finally reach to Chirwa. Chirwa is a beautiful Limbu village where we will be spending our night.
CHIRWA – SUKATHUM (1270m – 1576m)
We will trek through various landscapes to reach to Sukathum. Then, we will trek uphill and downhill and continue our trekking through dense forest aside of the Tamor River. We will furthermore trek until we cross the Ghunsa River in which we reach Sukathum. Finally after 6 hours long trek, we will reach Sukathum and spend the night there.
SUKATHUM – AMJILOSA (1576m – 2308m)
This will be the first challenging trek for everyone. We will be trekking through the dense forest after crossing the suspension bridge outside Sukathum. We will climb a gorge and pass by Solima village and again trek down to the level of the river. While walking the path that passes the gorge we should be very much careful. Then we will follow a very tricky path which will lead us to Amjilosa.
AMJILOSA – GYABLA (2308m – 2730m)
Today we will start our trek from the bank of the river that takes us to the dense forest of bamboo and rhododendrons. We will climb uphill and cross small bridges all along the way. On the way, we will enjoy some beautiful waterfalls. Again we will walk uphill around 6 hours and reach the Tibetan settlement to Gyabla.
GYABLA – GHUNSA (2730m – 3595m)
We will trek down to the river and reach Phale. From Phale we will be traveling through conifer and pine forest and reach the Sherpa village of Ghunsa. We will spend the night there. It takes around 5 to 6 hours to reach there.
ACCLIMATIZATION AT GHUNSA
Today will be the rest day for continuing our next day trek. We will be recommended to stay active during this day. In this day, we will be making necessary arrangements for the coming days. We will also take a short hike and come back to Ghunsa and relax.
GHUNSA – KAMBACHEN (3595m 4050m)
We will trek towards the north direction from Ghunsa which will take us through the meadows full of wildflowers. We will again cross a bridge at RampukKharka and then will come across the tricky section of the landslide. After further trekking, we will reach Kambachen. It takes 6 hours to reach Kambachen.
REST DAY AT KAMBACHEN
We will again be taking a rest day so as to prevent from mental and physical health conditions including altitude sickness. In this day we will be checking up our body whether we are suffering from altitude sickness or not. In this particular day after having some rest, we will be exploring the NuphchuKhola Valley area. We will be staying at Kambachen for two long days.
KAMBACHEN – LHONAK (4050m – 4780m)
Today is another challenging day for all of us. In this day we will wake up early in the morning and will begin our trek. We will be trekking through the large rocky fields along the riverbank and then cross a bridge to Ramtang monastery. We will again go across the landslide section following downhill and lead us to Lhonak. The time duration for today;s trek will be around 6 to 7 hours.
LHONAK – KANCHENJUNGA NORTH BASE CAMP (4780m – 5388m)
After spending a night at Lhonak, we will have very hot breakfast and start our trek. We will be trekking along the Kanchenjunga glacier to spend the night at Kanchenjunga Base Camp that lies on the north side. We will carefully climb and trek around the rocky section and a short climb will take us to Pangpema. Pangpema is a flat grassy base camp where Kanchenjunga North Base Camp is located. Climbing higher will give us the view of Jannu, and Kanchenjunga.
KANCHENJUNGA NORTH BASE CAMP - KAMBACHEN (5388m – 4050m)
We will be returning back to Lhonak and will continue our trek to down the valley. Since trekking downhill is also easy than climbing uphill, we will reach Kambachen by evening. It will take around 6 to 7 hours to be back at Kambachen.
