Mera Peak Climbing

Standing tall amongst other snow-capped giants in the famed Khumbu/Everest valley, Mera Peak at 6461m is one of the most popular and relished summit climbed by many mountaineers. Mera Peak is widely known for its technically challenging topography along with the breath taking vies of the mountains that lie near to it.

Known for its technical difficulty, Mera Peak climbing exclusively includes lengthy sections of snow and glacier walking which can be very slippery. The climbers are required to be well equipped and take a few Sherpa guides for professional and technical assistance. However, the vista from Mera Peak is absolutely mesmerizing with the views of over five of the 8000m Peaks which includes Mt. Everest at 8848m, Cho-Oyu at 8201m, Lhotse at 8516m, Makalu at 8463m, Kanchenjunga at 8586m, Nuptse at 7855m, Chamlang at 7319m as well as many other peaks.

Although its high level of technical requirement in climbing, Mera Peak is suitable for fit and enthusiastic climbers. It sees clouds of climbers throughout the year who are very enthusiastic in climbing the peak in order to be satisfied by the surreal experience. The trail from Lukla leading towards Mera Base camp gives a plush view of the untouched and wild alpine area of the Hinku valley that lies south of Mt. Everest.

Day 01:

Arrival in Kathmandu

Today, we arrive in the capital of the culturally diverse and geographically mesmerizing country of Nepal. Upon arriving at the Tribhuvan International Airport, we will be transferred into the hotel by our airport representative. We can spend the rest of the day savoring the tremendously delicious Nepali cuisine and the local bars and restaurants. We will stroll around the streets of Kathmandu. We will stay overnight at the hotel. 

Day 02:

Sightseeing around Kathmandu and preparation for the trip

Kathmandu is best known for being one of the cities which has the most UNESCO Heritage Sites in the beautiful country of Nepal. We can visit these sites including the Kathmandu Durbar Square as well as the Patan Durbar Square. We will buy our climbing equiptment and will also discuss with the climbing guide. We will stay overnight at the hotel. 

Day 03:

Kathmandu- Lukla (2800m)

Today we embark on one of the most stunning flights in Nepal. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla is festooned with the panorama of the exceptionallystriking peaks of the Everest Region. The flight which takes about an estimated 45 minutes, will offer the up close vistas of the Himalayas as well as the idealistic landscapes. We will then trek from Lukla to chutanga at 3050m. We will stay overnight at a lodge. 

Day 04:

Chutanga to Zatrawala Pass (4610m.) to Zatrabok (4704m.)

Today, we will be trekking from Chutanga to Zatrawala Pass at 4610m. and towards Zatrabok at 4704m. The trail will lead towards zatrawala Pass from where we get to experience the breth taking scenery of the surreal NumburHimal, KongdiRi, Karyolang peak and many other mountains and peaks that are worth watching. The trail will lead downhill and then descend all the way towards Zatrabok. Unpon reaching there, we will set up our camps. The campsite will be surrounded by the lush green hills. We will stay overnight at a lodge. 

Day 05:

Zatrabok to Kothe

Today, we will be trekking from Zatrabok to Kothe where we will set up our camps. The trail towards Kothe passes through a steep descent, a forest of plush and romantic juniper, rhododendron and other local vegetation. We will stay overnight at a lodge. 

Day 06:

Kothe to Tangnang (4356m.)

Today, we will trek from Kothe to Tangnang. The trek will lead from SabalTsho-Lake through Hinku Valley at 4600m. We will trek along the bank of river with green bushes along the way. The trail slowly ascends to the rejoicing vistas of KusumKanguru peak. We will stay overnight at a lodge. 

Day 07:

Thangnang

Today, we will rest at Tangnang which will be adequate for acclimatization. We will relish the stunning views of the peaks and glaciers surrounding the top of Hinku Valley. We will stay overnight at a lodge. 

Day 08:

Tangnang to Khare (5045m)

Today, we will trek from Tangnang to Khare (5045m). We will hike up to Khare at 5100m. We will take up the beautiful surrounding. We will stop at different places for acclimatization. The trail leads eastward towards Tangnangalong Dig Glacier. We will catch a glimpse of the mesmerizing SabaiTso glacier lake. We will also see the drop in lake level caused by the rupture of the natural dam. Subsequently, we will arrive at Khare where we will have our lunch. We will stay overnight at a lodge. 

Day 09:

Khare

We will rest at Khare in order to acclimatize. We will get to see the beautifulMera Peak on its north face. We will also get ready for climbing Mera Peak. We will stay overnight at a lodge. 

Day 10:

khare to Mera La

Today, we will trek from Khare to Mera La Pass at 5350m. The trail will slowly lead upwards towards Mera glacier. From Mera La Pass we will see extravagant views of Crevasse fields moderately spanning out in front of the pass. We will experience both the greenery and he blue glaciers. We will stay overnight at a camp. 

Day 11:

Mera La to Mera Peak High Camp

Today, we will treak towards Mera Peak High Camp from Mera la. Slowly, we will ascend towars the trail which leads to vast snowcapped lands. We will get to enjoy the breah taking views of the neighbouring mountains like Everest, Makalu and Baruntse, KusumKanguru and and various other peaks standing tall.
We will stay overnight at a camp.

Day 12:

Mera Peak to Khare

After the satisfaction of climbing the astounding Mera peak, we will return towards Khare. The climb toward the summit of Mera beings with an ascend towards wide glaciers edged by two ridges. We will move towars the central summit. The trail goes southeast after that. It leads to the east of the left-hand ridge before turing right towards the main summit ridge. We will reach the highest sumit out of the three summits of Mera. To reach it, we will follow a trail leading towards a snow ridge below the final wall. The snow slope is short and steep and requires some extra effort. After the difficult climb, we will be rewarded the ecstatic view of the splendid outlook of the snowcapped landscape and mountains and peaks that emit peace and serenity. After devouring the beauty of Mera Peak we will slowly descend by the same route towards our campsite below Mera La. We will stay overnight at a lodge. 

Day 13:

Khare to Kothe

Today, we will trek from Khare to Kothe through Tangnang. We will get to experience the small settlement of ethnic groups. The trail will then lead to a plush green forest covered with fir and romantic rhododendron along with some local vegetation. We will stay overnight a lodge. 

Day 14:

Kothe to Zatrabok

Today, we will trek from Kothe to Zatrabok through a steep trail. The trail also passes through forests and green hills. We will stay overnight at a lodge. 

Day 15:

Zatrabok to Lukla

Today, we will trek from Zatrabok to Lukla. The trail passes through a forest of fir, rhododendron, oak, juniper and local vegetation which adds furthermore to the serenity of Nepal. Along the way towards lukla, we can enjoy the satisfying views of NumburHimal, KongdiRi, Karyolang peak and many other mountains and peaks that we left behind. We will stay overnight in Lukla. 

Day 16:

Lukla to Kathmandu

We will fly from Lukla to Kathmandu today. The flight is estimated to take about 35 minutes. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will be transferred to our hotel. 

Day 17:

Shopping and sightseeing around Kathmandu.

Today, we can freely explore the streets of Kathmandu. We can shop at the local stores for souvenirs. We can also travel to the various heritage sites along with our guide. We will stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu. 

Day 18:

Departure

Today we will be departing from the beautiful country of Nepal as per the flight schedule set by our airport representative. We will leave Nepal with the gratification of having climbed one of the most adventurous and stunning peaks in the world, Mera Peak. We will also be fulfilled by the communal beauty of Nepal along with its mesmerizing nature. We will leave with the hope and the promise to come back to Nepal in order to embark similar adventures.
