Trip Overview

The Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188m) expedition by Nima Adventure is a world-class journey to the sixth-highest peak on Earth. Often called the “Turquoise Goddess,” Cho Oyu is situated on the Nepal-Tibet border and is highly regarded as one of the most accessible 8,000-meter peaks. This 41-day expedition follows the northwest ridge from the Tibetan side, beginning with a scenic drive from Kathmandu through the Kerung border.

The itinerary is designed for maximum safety, featuring a 21-day dedicated climbing period that allows for proper acclimatization rotations and waiting for optimal weather windows. With comprehensive support including an experienced climbing Sherpa for every member, high-altitude oxygen, and full base camp services, this expedition provides a logical progression for climbers aspiring to test themselves at extreme altitudes.

Cost Includes

  • Arrival and departure transfer services to and from both domestic and international flight as per itinerary.

  • 6 Nights hotels accommodation in 4-star hotel in Kathmandu on B/B basis.

  • Tibet Visa fee.

  • Expedition Royalty and a permit fee of the Chinese Government (CMA / TMA) to climb Mt. Cho Oyu, Restricted are permit and fee.

  • An experienced government licensed high altitude climbing sherpa during the entire climb from Basecamp to the summit and back.

  • Land transportation for members and staffs.

  • All necessary expedition equipment transportation for all Members and Staff.

  • Per person 60kg baggage allowance during trekking-up carrying by yaks.

  • All trekking and mountaineering equipments like; kitchen tent, stores tent, dining tents, toilet tents, tables, chairs, and cooking utensils for advance Base Camp and camp two.

  • Common climbing equipment (necessary fixed and main rope, ice bars, ice screws, snow bar etc).

  • 3 meals a day (Breakfasts, Lunch and Dinners with tea/ coffee) in available tea house/hotel/lodge during the trekking and base camp.

  • All wages, equipment, medical and accidental insurances for all involved staffs in trekking and expedition.

  • Equipment allowances and wages for Climbing Sherpa’s, cooks, kitchen boys, liaison officer.

  • First Aid medical kits for the group and the staffs.

  • Satellite phone carrying by guide for communication and available for members with appropriate charge.

  • Appropriate food for high altitude and all climbing crew at base camp and above as required.

  • Required fixed and dynamic rope during climbing period.

  • Heater will be provided at base camp for heating the dining room.

  • 3 Bottles (12L) of Oxygen will be provided each member and 1 bottle for climbing sherpa.

  • 1 Set of Summit Oxygen masks & regulator for each member and high-altitude Sherpa, which has to be returned after the expedition.

  • Emergency Oxygen, mask and regulator provided on requirement of guest with appropriate charge.

  • Each expedition member will have an individual tent available in the Chinese and Advance Base Camp.

  • Sharing tents for the higher camps.

  • Solar panel and generator for light and battery charging in base camp.

  • Assistance service for Cargo clearance and Duties. Clearance cost is subject to a charge.

  • EPI gas, cooking pot, high food will be provided in camp one, two and three for cooking food, boiling water.

  • Walkie talkie for the communication and it’s permit.

  • Daily weather forecast.

  • Welcome lunch or dinner in Kathmandu.

Cost Excludes

  • International airfare to and from Kathmandu.

  • Nepal entry visa fee (Multiple entry).

  • Extra nights’ accommodation in Kathmandu in case of early arrival or late departure, early return from expedition due to any other reasons than the scheduled itinerary.

  • Lunch and dinner during your stay in Kathmandu (also in case of early return from trekking down to schedule itinerary).

  • Insurance covering both medical and high-altitude evacuation costs (for the trip cancellation, interruption, high-altitude rescue & air evacuation, medical treatment, repatriation, etc.) *Mandatory.

  • Expenses of personal nature such as soft drinks, battery charge, laundry, postage, toiletries, telephone, internet, hot showers, alcoholic beverages etc.

  • Any packed food/snacks, aerated drinks, energy drinks, mineral water, alcohol, cigarettes, chocolates, nutria-bars during the trekking.

  • Any extra expenses arising out of various/unforeseen situations like natural calamities, landslides, political disturbances, strikes, changes in Government regulations, etc.

  • Extra transportation than displayed in itinerary program.

  • Any additional staff other than specified.

  • Rescue, Repatriation, Medicines, Medical Tests and Hospitalization expenses.

  • Medical Insurance and emergency rescue evacuation if required.

  • Travel Insurance and helicopter rescue.

  • Filming permit (if special camera).

  • Personal climbing gears.

  • Expenses incurred towards usage of landlines, mobiles, walkie-talkies or satellite phone and Internet expenses.

  • Clothing, Packing Items or Bags, Personal Medical Kit, Camera/Video Fees or Trekking Gears.

  • Nepal custom duty for import of expedition goods.

  • Summit bonus for climbing Sherpa minimum US$ 1500 per climbing Sherpa guide.
